As no one would be living in the family home, we were asked to renovate it so that relatives and friends could be invited to gather there on weekends.
The house had a wonderful atmosphere that could be felt throughout the client's father, so we read his intentions as much as possible and renovated the house so that the memories of the family's life could be carried on.
The house is at a turning point where the way of living and the people who use this house are changing, but the story from when the construction was first completed will not be interrupted and will continue to live on with a different role in the new objects. People may feel comfortable and positively motivated in a place where such feelings have accumulated.
Because this is a second house that is not the main place for everyday living, we aimed to create a place that feels somehow special.
Storage is kept to a minimum, and shelves allow people to love their memorable vessels and ornaments.
The kitchen is laid out in a circular layout so that everyone can enjoy the cooking itself.
The kitchen is designed to be used in such a way that each act of living finds its own emotional resonance.
We designed a space that gently supports this.
