2023年の夏は世界規模で観測史上最高気温を記録し、もはや真夏に屋外で滞在することが不可能なほど熱くなった。
皆がクーラーの効いた部屋で暑さを凌ぎ、夏は建物の断熱材を境界線として、内と外の区別がより色濃く区別される季節となってしまった。
この提案では、まち全体に気温の境界線(断熱層)を作ることで、夏でも屋外に居住空間を取り戻す試みをしている。
具体的には、まちを漂うように徘徊する空気のデバイス(まちの空調機器)を計画し、気温の観測データと連携しながらAIがデバイスを使って的確な場所に影を落としていく。デバイスは時刻ごとに移動し、人の流動や営みと連携するように影に役割を与えながら熱エネルギーを消費して周辺の気温を下げていく。
対象地は職中一体型のまち形態を持つ散居村の砺波平野とし、住宅エリアとして捉えられる範囲の拡張を提案している。
The summer of 2023 recorded the highest temperature ever recorded on a global scale, so hot that it is no longer possible to stay outdoors in the middle of summer.
With everyone braving the heat in air-conditioned rooms, summer has become a season in which the distinction between inside and outside is more colorfully differentiated, with building insulation as the boundary line.
This proposal attempts to bring back outdoor living space even in summer by creating a temperature boundary (insulation layer) throughout the town.
Specifically, air devices (air conditioning equipment for the town) are planned to roam around the town as if drifting, and AI will use the devices to cast shadows in the right places in coordination with the temperature observation data. The devices will move at different times of the day, consuming thermal energy and lowering the surrounding temperature while giving the shadows a role to play in coordination with the flow and activities of people.
The target site is Tonami Plain, a dispersed village with a town form that integrates work and middle-class people, and we are proposing an extension of the area that can be considered as a residential area.
